What is PixelAid?

PixelAid is a pixel-art cleanup and export tool for artists, game developers, and solo creators who want to turn rough, inconsistent, or AI-generated “pixel-looking” images into real, engine-ready pixel art.

It is designed for the practical parts of pixel-art production: cleaning up sprites, icons, tiles, character sheets, concept art, and other game assets so they are easier to use in real projects.

What can PixelAid do?

PixelAid can help you:

  • Align artwork to a real pixel grid
  • Convert fake high-resolution pixelated images into native-resolution pixel art
  • Reduce and inspect color palettes
  • Preserve or clean up transparency
  • Prepare sprites, tiles, and sheets for export
  • Generate engine-friendly metadata for asset pipelines
  • Compare before/after results while keeping the original image intact

How does it work?

PixelAid is NOT an AI generator.

It does not invent new artwork, send your images to an AI service, or rely on prompts. Instead, it uses deterministic image-processing algorithms and real pixel-art production techniques such as grid detection, block downsampling, palette analysis, alpha handling, sheet slicing, and export metadata generation.

Use it when you already have an image and want to make it cleaner, more consistent, and technically correct as pixel art.
